Sculptor Dan Freeman has been creating sculptural objects with whatever materials interest him ever since childhood spent on construction sites with his father. He is particularly interested in combining differing materials, such as wood with metal, or metal with stone. Recently he has added fire to his process by creating welded steel sculptures for both indoor and outdoor display.
Freeman enjoys working on commissions and the challenge of responding to a site: “As an artist, I have a vision of how elements relate and how they should flow together. For me, it’s a direct line….splicing together elements in a singleness of purpose.” Color, Tension, Balance, and perhaps a toch of humor all come into harmonious play and come to life in his Clinton studio.
