The reflective surfaces of water are one of Jacob Kohn’s most loved subject matters. Executed in a highly realistic style that dissolves into  flowing loose brushwork once examined close up, his vivid paintings  explore the transition between abstraction and realism. A keen sense of editing an image  down to its essentials and strong compositional choices makes Jacob’s paintings stand out as exceptional works of art.

Jacob Kohn  has a distinguished career as artist and academic. His work has been widely exhibited across the United States and is featured in many private and corporate collections, including Bill & Melinda Gates, Microsoft, Salish Lodge , Jet West of Los Angeles, and the University of Washington.  He is currently Professor in the Design Department of Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle.
