BARBARA MUNDELL - jeweler and silver smith

The undulating shapes of vines and branches, twisted seaweed and shells are the inspiration for Whidbey Island artist Barbara Mundell’s finely-crafted Bella Terra jewelry. Her elegant designs form the settings for precious gems or freshwater pearls, highlighting a variety of color and shapes created by that exquisite gem-maker, Mother Nature.

Montana Iris Agate Necklace and Earrings Display

Pearl necklace, bracelet and earring sets made with unique clasps in flowing designs, lend a sophisticated grace to both formal party attire or more casual looks.

With more than 30 years of metal-working experience, this artist combines quality and skill, with a stylish sense of chic to create memorable pieces. Be ready for the flutter of compliments that comes with wearing Bella Terra jewelry.

Working in gold or silver with shears, carving, engraving and repousse tools, Barbara crafts each individual part of her pieces first, and then skillfully joins them by careful soldering, using techniques that have been around for 5,000 years.

"My style of fabricated jewelry is expressed in mostly botanical themes,” Mundell said. Vines and branches capture gems or pearls and hold them in unique settings, which the artist creates at her Whidbey Island home studio.
