Flamant Volant is French for flying flamingo… and that’s exactly who is suspended at center stage in this assemblage. This box is full of play on texture - with the roughness of the sticks, the shiny slickness of the metal, and the smooth tops of the pins that serve as flowers – and the vibrant colors that echo from the paper “rays” above to the painted tips of the “roots” below.

Materials: found 8-sided box; plastic flamingo; sewing pins; deconstructed metal box; sticks; cut-out letters from vintage book; art papers; acrylic paints.
