Holy Cow! is a playful shrine to the milk cow, represented by the ceramic salt shaker who’s pepper pal was lost or broken long ago.  All of the little pigs and geese are flocking to pay homage to our Bessie, whose halo of buttons and “raw milk” bottle top is surrounded by a penumbra of rays cut from a milk carton featuring images of chocolate chip cookies and splashing milk.  The Tinkertoy grass evokes the green pastures where Bessie grazes, and the vintage toy cups on the sides are filled almost to the brim with nice white milk.  The “udder forward” elements on the front of the vintage camera back are a humorous reminder of the part of the cow not depicted in the central figure, but definitely part of the milk-production apparatus!
