In the Night Garden is an exploration of visual rhythms and textures. and an imaginative visit to a garden where stars are born. One of my favorite elements of the piece is the wee little enamel pot full of stars suspended from the ladder…perhaps a harvest from the star flowers growing out of the “bed” made from an old spectacles case?

Materials: recycled box from Melissa and Doug toy set; sticks; found snail shells; craft mirrors; cloth leaves; round tin container; broken earring; green rubber frog; blue glass rings; vintage eyeglass case; craft stars; rubber butterflies; photos from astronomy book; joining biscuits; gold and silver leaf skeletons; cloth flowers; broken jewelry; miniature enamel pot.
