This one’s for all the Pacific Northwesterners who store up memories of sun to nourish us through the long dark cold wet winter days! The bright, cheerful chairs retain their good cheer even against the black rainy background by holding thoughts of blue skies and butterflies, keeping a little touch of the beach and its treasures underfoot, and holding a rainbow the colors of sky, grass, and sun all around them. The piece speaks to how we all have the potential to keep talismans of light and warmth around us, even when we find ourselves sitting in the darkest of times.
